A few days ago a stranger tried to open my car door and get in. He didn’t say anything. He just walked up to the car (mid traffic at a busy round about) and reached for the door. It frightened me. I was afraid. I didn’t let him in but I immediately felt badly for him.

He face was sad and he backed away in shame. He pulled his hand close to his chest and lowered his head. I looked at him. His clothes: dirty. He: older man. It was 86 degrees outside but I still couldn’t bring myself to let him in. I feel badly.
How do you maintain safety and extend kindness?
